Live Japanese Sword Sales Events
Presented by Keichodo and Tsuba.info
Sword and fittings connoisseurs,
have you ever just sat back and thought how exciting it would be to travel to all the regional sword exhibitions and sales fairs in Japan? Unfortunately, there are many issues and obstacles to such adventures including the travel and all the expenses.
Tsuba.info and Keichodo have a solution. Paul Kremers and Robert Hughes are cooperatively proposing live on-line reporting from regional sword exhibitions around Japan. Most international collectors of samurai art are aware of the world renowned Dai Token Ichi, the premier samurai art event in the world. However, what may not be understood is that almost every week there are smaller regional sword exhibitions and events all over Japan.
Our solution 'Super Samurai Market'
Live on-line reporting of regional sword exhibitions!
Many of the regional events are cooperative ventures of small groups of dealers. With Super Samurai market, our intention is to showcase items that are being offered at these events at the existing dealer prices. International viewers can see in real time a broad selection of swords and fittings being offered at Japanese domestic prices. With Super Samurai Market, we will act as your purchasing agents to secure fine treasures and deliver them to your address using postal EMS shipping.
Super Samurai Market is a commercial venue for members to be able to purchase from Japan all manner of fine samurai art including swords, sword fittings, and armor. To enable commercial success of this venture, the agents of Super Samurai Market will add a 10% commission fee as well as the shipping fees. For sword purchases, there will also be a processing fee of yen 15,000JPY to obtain the necessary document for export and Japan customs clearance.

Background of Hikone
Hikone Castle is one of four castles in Japan designated as National Treasures. It was built by Naotaka Ii, the second lord of Hikone, after the Battle of Sekigahara in 1600. Hikone Castle is admired year-round for its landscape and season beauty. In Hikone, it is possible to visit the home of Naosuke Ii, who was said to be the “father of the opening of Japan”. He lived here from age seventeen to age thirty-two. Naosuke Ii was the 14th son of Naonaka Ii, Hikone Clan’s 11th lord, so his chances of becoming lord were quite slim. However, he made a strong effort to study both culture and military skills, and later became not only a lord, but also the Prime Minister of the Tokugawa administration during the Edo Period. He is credited with opening Japan up to the outside world.
